I've been getting a lot of questions about this top since posting it on Instagram last week. A lot of people thought I was wearing a lace bodysuit but it's actually a lace teddy from Victoria Secret. Lingerie can be expensive, especially if you're like me and don't wear it very often. So I like to try and incorporate it into my wardrobe a little bit when I can. If I spend $65 on a lingerie item, I want to be able to wear it more then the one Valentines day that I purchased it for, lol.
I'm so thankful that wearing lingerie as streetwear is a really popular trend this year. You know when you have already been doing something, then it becomes a trend and you're like, "yesss... I must've been doing something right!" haha
If you're curious about giving this trend a go, I highly encourage you to do so! My honest and best advice is to just make sure you create balance when styling with lingerie. I typically always add layers. For example, if I decided not to wear the jacket with this look, the top would've been a bit too much with the leggings alone. The jacket creates balance and pulls everything together so it still looks classy.
I put together five ways you can turn your favorite bedroom items into streetwear.
1. Wear a teddy as a bodysuit.
2. Turn your lace and silk slips into a dress.
3. Layer a bralette with a low cut top or mesh bodysuit.
4. Use your robe as a duster, kimono, or jacket (depending on the type of robe).
5. For a sporty streetwear look, pair sports bras with a bomber jacket.
If you read my previous post you know that I am also a fan of wearing my robe as outerwear.
Needless to say, all clothing items in my closet eventually get worn as streetwear.
I hope this post was helpful! As always, thank you so much for stopping by.
